What does it mean?
Remember that everything we post online can be shared and searched indefinitely. That’s why we must be extremely mindful of our digital footprint.
How?
- By representing ourselves authentically while respecting professional boundaries.
- By clearly indicating that our views are personal when discussing Company matters, unless we are specifically authorized to speak on behalf of ST.
- By never sharing confidential or proprietary information on social media or anywhere else on the internet.
- By respecting colleagues, competitors, and partners in all online interactions.
One very important thing to keep in mind is this: even private accounts reflect on our Company. So we have to maintain professional standards consistently.
→ When we identify as ST employees, we avoid sharing personal opinions on controversial topics, political matters, or sensitive industry issues.
→ When engaging in discussions, we focus on constructive dialogue rather than criticism.

Our Do’s
- We protect ST's confidential and proprietary information by not sharing it on social media or the internet.
- We communicate in a respectful and professional manner on social media.
- We always seek authorization before making statements on behalf of ST.
- We always verify information before sharing to prevent spreading misinformation.
- We respect intellectual property rights and obtain permission from individuals featured in photos before publishing them online.
Using social media properly
in practice
Because real life is rarely as clear-cut as theory, here are the answers to a few questions you might have
You would like to update your personal social media profile describe your role and some of the projects you have worked on at ST. What is the appropriate way to do this?
You may indicate that you work for ST and describe your role in a general and factual way (for example: job title, organization, and high level responsibilities). However, you must not disclose any confidential, sensitive, or non public information about ST, its technologies, customers, or partners. Ensure that your profile and posts remain professional and consistent with ST’s Code of Conduct.
A journalist contacts you through LinkedIn or another social media platform asking for comments on ST’s strategy and products. You have some knowledge of the topic and are tempted to answer directly. What should you do?
You should not respond on behalf of ST. Politely thank the journalist for their interest and refer them to ST’s official media contact or the generic contact indicated on st.com.
Do not provide comments, opinions, or confirmations about ST’s strategy, financials, confidential projects, or any non public information.
